Gaming Addiction in Real Life #6

Gaming addiction has been proven to be lethal over countless times, many of those times result in suicide. For example a suicide of a young 13 year old Chinese boy in Tianjin, China was troubling to many people as a young boy was lead to take his own life. The boy threw himself off a twenty-four story building, leaving notes of his addiction and his hopes meeting his gaming friends in his afterlife. He was found starving after two days and night in a computer café as he was binging on his favrioute game. The boy realised that he had been addicted and could no longer control himself this lead to his decision to take his life.

Gaming Addiction in Real Life #3

Gaming Addiction in Real Life #3

Lets take a lighter tone on IRL gaming. Gaming addiction can lead to many striving to be the best or become a legend in their community. This is one example, "Man breaks record for longest gaming session, clocks 135 hours". One man on a gaming mission, attempted and accomplished an astounding record of 135 hours played straight. This means little to no sleep, minimal food, restricted toilet times and so many other limitations. In the end while recorded and watched this man was able to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for the worlds longest gaming session.

The man Kaya, a Sydney sales manager, "playing the game on Tuesday 13 November at the office of his employer 4Cabling. Since then he's been battling to beat the world record established by a Canadian duo in March 2012". Addiction may be a bad habit, but in this case its both a bad habit and an accomplishment.

Real Gaming Addiction #2

Gaming Addiction in Real Life #2

Gaming addiction and gaming influence can be a harmful substance towards younger children. This is obvious in some cases. But between you and me, the political rants about it are a little absurd. But every once in a while something really does disturb me. In this case the "Chilling playthings of Slender Man obsessive: Girl, 12, who stabbed friend 19 times, mutilated her Barbies with cult symbols; drew cartoons about killing and made murder shopping list".
June court appearance: Morgan Geyser was led into a Wisconsin court room in shackles in June where she was arraigned for the attempted murder of her friend
A young girl who was influenced by the successful indie horror game Slenderman, killed another human being. Now I know its a lot to take in, but just let it sink in for a minute. How many thoughts are flowing through your head right now? Confusion. Fear. Anger. Throw those thoughts out of you brain now. Lets just think. Why would someone do this. Well these two girls addiction towards a game, had turned horribly wrong. A clear case of underdeveloped minds trying to comprehend emotions and information above their intelligence level.

One thing, I must say before ending this. A game is just a game. It may influence you. But you must understand this whenever you play one. You can end it.

Real Gaming Addiction

Gaming Addiction in Real Life #1

Man dies after 7-day computer game session

Yes. It’s a true story and no joke. 28th February 2007, over the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday, a 23 stone (146kg), 26-year-old man named Zhang collapses in a heap over his computer, body twitching, and body in a heart attack, which proved fatal. While his unhealthy weight can be attributed to his death, doctors state his unhealthy, unmoving state, proved too straining on his heart.

Zhang’s uncle stated:
"He was young, in good health,” his uncle said. “He wasn’t ill, just a bit fat. Who would have thought it could have ended up like this?”

Immediately after reading this quote, one must question the delusion of this quote.
Across the East of Asia, serious gaming addictions are becoming of national interest, as the governments of their respective countries intervene, with the foresight of an epidemic.
The gaming scene in China has been recognized as many as an integral part to life, as Zhang’s teacher justifies gaming’s role

“There are only two options: TV or computer,” she said. “What else can I do in the holiday - all the markets, karaoke bars and cafes are closed?”
