The boy threw himself off a twenty-four story building, leaving notes of his addiction and his hopes meeting his gaming friends in his afterlife. A family couple was recently faced with a lawsuit as they left their
baby to starve to death just to raise and online virtual child. The
parents engaged in 12 hr sessions on the online fantasy game, Prius
online. As internet gaming is becoming massive around the world internet
cafes became very popular as places such as South Korea offering
ultra-high speed internet connections. This is not a surprise as many
teenagers are at risk of becoming addicted to gaming, as many friends
can join in together and meet new people since they share a common
psychological space.

Gaming Addiction in Real Life #4
Gaming Addiction in Real Life #4
In 2014, a couple in Anaheim, US was jailed by authorities for two felony counts of child abuse, two misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment, one misdemeanor count of contributing to delinquency of a minor, and sentencing enhancements for great bodily injury. This comes after the two failed to properly take care of their two young daughters. Their addiction to the video game World of Warcraft had caused them to neglect the needs of the children, as the mobile park home they inhabited was considered to be both unsanitary and uninhabitable. The home was found with little nessesities for basic living standards, with food either scarce or spoilt.

The two girls ages 10 and 5, were unable to leave their home for any reason. The children were found in a state in which "dirt crusted on their feet, matted hair, damaged teeth beyond repair, and malnourished".
The two parents have now been sentenced to prison, with 5 years for the husband and three years and four months for the wife.
This is just another reason why gaming addiction, may cause harm to others.

Positive Effects of Gaming
Positive Effects of Gaming
The effects of gaming onto the mind is a controversial topic, as the image games perceived by many adults is the negative aspects. Well many studies have been done to counter these arguments as well.
There are a multitude of gaming benefits as scientist have found some of which have are basic skills that grow with games. Depending on the type of game played these include problems solving, hand eye coordination/improved motor skills, planning and resource management, multitasking, copperation/team skills, memory improvement and much more. You may think what games can create these attributes and how does this happen. Well games these days have become more complex in and structured in their styles.
Depending on the game different skills may be attained. An example of this would be games that revolve around abstract puzzles or have problem solving aspects, such as the Phoenix Wrights games, Portal and the Legend of Zelda series. These games fixate on challenging the mind and provide stimulus to the mind to help its development. A case such as Portal. Portal was was tested on children with result improving their cognitive skills, a study by Florida State University.
Many wide open terrain games such as the Witcher series, Skyrim, World of Warcraft or any MMORPG, also help with mapping as players are able to traverse large landscapes with either maps or memory being used.
Judgement and morality in these games can also be raised. By this I mean the correction of rules and regulations, a play by societies expectations if you want. Games such as Fable, Hitman Absolute, The Walking Dead and Fallout: New Vegas. These games allow democratic experiences and allows the user to make choices that can a consequences within users experience. These games can also demonstrate the personality and the mindset of what a person desires; of that be peace through discussions and diplomacy or brutal and difficult combat.
I could further continue on about other benefits but will end with one more. Gaming experience can improve a persons understanding of society. In many cases games such as Grand Theft Auto or the Call of Duty franchise bring light to a dark yet some what believable version of society. In many cases these can be fun but what many players realise is that this version of what is or could be may be devastating in the face of reality.

Harmful Effects From Gaming Addiction
Negative Effects of Gaming Addiction
As many people can acknowledge, gaming addiction can effect people in certain aspects. In this case I am looking towards the negative in this part.In some cases, gamers can also have issues in maintaining the right perspective of what is reality and what is fantasy. This is rare and often is only due to an individual having a pre-existing mental disorder, but can possibly cause harm to others.
Finally the last big negativity in gaming. The community. In most cases a gaming community may help a person become better at a game, with better strategies, items or codes to support the games experience. But in a rapidly rising rate, many people have gain a bullying type persona, in other words 'trolls' or 'ragers'. These people have no knowledge of support the experience of a community but rather degrades it with negative comments and attitudes causing real emotional and mental stress to others. Gaming communities such as this always have people such as this, and have ruined and hurt many people.

Real Gaming Addiction #2
Gaming Addiction in Real Life #2
Gaming addiction and gaming influence can be a harmful substance towards younger children. This is obvious in some cases. But between you and me, the political rants about it are a little absurd. But every once in a while something really does disturb me. In this case the "Chilling playthings of Slender Man obsessive: Girl, 12, who stabbed friend 19 times, mutilated her Barbies with cult symbols; drew cartoons about killing and made murder shopping list".

A young girl who was influenced by the successful indie horror game Slenderman, killed another human being. Now I know its a lot to take in, but just let it sink in for a minute. How many thoughts are flowing through your head right now? Confusion. Fear. Anger. Throw those thoughts out of you brain now. Lets just think. Why would someone do this. Well these two girls addiction towards a game, had turned horribly wrong. A clear case of underdeveloped minds trying to comprehend emotions and information above their intelligence level.
One thing, I must say before ending this. A game is just a game. It may influence you. But you must understand this whenever you play one. You can end it.

Mobile Games
The Easy Access of Games: Mobile Games
The availability of
games has been a major cause of the addiction to gaming. This is due to the
ideology of having a source of entertainment where ever, whenever you go. But
how is this possible. The answer to that is simple. Mobile games. The market
for mobile games is on the rise.

Mobile game have spread into society like a plague, as people from all generations, all cultures and nationalities begin to shift towards new technology (in this case smart phones). Smart phones now days have almost become a necessity in day to day life. Smart phones have become an addiction of their own. With this addiction hides another. No one can deny that, no matter how much we don't want to having been addicted to a certain mobile game at some point. Whether it be Candy Crush, Angry Birds, Flappy Birds or Clash of Clans, we have all at some point had become obsessed. But why? That answer is simple. Because it's easy too. With mobile games the ideology of gaming has completely changed. Instead having to go home to play on a console, people can just open an app on their phones where ever they are. The limitation of "place" disappears. Games also are place in the open sort of way, where the market can be limitless. Mums, dads, children. No matter who you or they or we are, as long as a smart phone is available we can access it.
Games also require less
to satisfy people. Most mobile games relinquish the need for deep story or
innovative game play. This is obvious. However instead they oversimplify their
games mechanics. And do you know what, we love it! Though this simplicity no one
can feel alienated. No need to bring though or skill but mindless fun or time wasting.
This is the formula of modern day mobile games. Easy game =fun=addiction=money.

The expense is also taken away and then brought right back. It is easy to see why people are so keen on mobile games, as it is clear the wallet has a mind of its own. Mobile games first appear to be free but hidden beneath hides every businesses intentions. Money. Free to play games are common on smart phone, with extra charges only added with additional "content" or "continues". These are cheap ways to make money but addiction to these games have made millions. For example King the developers of the internationally recognised game Candy Crush have made over $1.5 billion in revenue. The not so child friendly animation, has also shown this in their episode Freemium Gaming, parodying the nature of gaming addiction and mobile games.
